Foodie travellers planning to visit India in October or later can now book a Food Tour Of India With A Chef. This food tour in October is 6 days long and will cover cuisines and sights of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Check in on 23rd October, New Delhi
The day before official start of food tour, i.e. on 23rd October the guests will be picked up from airport or some other location in city and transported to their hotel in Delhi where they will stay for 2 more nights. Chef Rajeev will meet them there and take them on a gourmet dinner in one of top restaurants in Delhi. The dinner will be an occasion to be introduced to fellow travellers and get some information related to the tour like what to expect, what to wear and so on.
DAY 1 : Food Tour of Delhi
Our first day begins with food tour of Delhi, starting with old Delhi. A great way to be introduced to Indian cuisine and culture, this food tour will set the mood for the rest of the trip. You will get to sample about 15-18 varieties of Food dishes each with it’s own place in cuisine of Delhi, as you visit 10 or more food joints in Old Delhi, Central and South Delhi. The food joint that you will visit have been there since many generations and are known for their quality and taste of the food that they provide. You will visit a places which are 110 to 40 years old. This trip in the old part of Delhi will find you walking through the narrow medieval streets of Delhi. Here you will sample many Indian delicacies like samosa, lassi, butter chicken, kulfi (Indian ice cream), melt in the mouth kebabs and many such variants. You will see that the different lanes are marked for selling different types of goods ranging from invitation cards, spices, camera, utensils, bicycles, clothes, shoes, vegetables, etc. We also go to see the spice market of Delhi and a temple which houses a charitable kitchen and feeds more than 10,000 people everyday.

DAY 2: Cooking Time
Day 2 will be the time to learn hot to cook some of the most popular Indian dishes in the most authentic way possible. This half day cooking class will be led by a chef and his family. The class will begin with making of masala chai (Indian tea) along with some fried Indian snacks, pakodas which are best enjoyed hot. Enjoy your piping hot chai with pakodas as the chef gives you an introduction about Indian food and he things to expect during the cooking class. Then it’ll be the time to don the aprons and start cooking. You’ll learn to cook proper Indian meals consisting of pulao, daaal (lentils), egg plant,raita, rotis (flat Indian breads), stuffed paranthas (stuffed and fried rotis), vegtables and more. Dessert will be in form of halwa. Along with cooking class, you will also learn the basics of using Indian spices. The cooking class will end with a meal of all the things cooked by you. All the participants will also receive a small gift hamper of some of the basic Indian spices used in a typical north-Indian kitchen. After the cooking class, you will leave to visit Humayun’s Tomb and Akshardham Temple. The sightseeing will end with India Gate and Rajpath . This area is the favourite family picnic spot for residents of New Delhi and is quite picturesque, specially after dark.

DAY 3: Visit to Taj Mahal. (Delhi – Agra)
A day to visit one of the wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal. It is a three hours drive from Delhi to Agra. We start early in the morning from Delhi. We reach Agra and check-in to the hotel. After some rest we go to visit the Taj Mahal. Any picture does not truly justify the actual beauty of the monument. You can spend some time here having a look at the intricate work and the wonderful detailing. You can then opt to take a walk in the wonderful lawns as you enjoy the beauty of the fountains. You may also wish to take some pictures on the marble benches just like some world known celebrities. After visiting the Taj Mahal, we head towards the Agra Fort made of red sandstone and learn about its history walking through the various parts of the fort and enjoying the breathtaking views of the city of Agra as well as the Taj Mahal. Agra was capital of Mughal empire for a long time and it’s quite obvious from their lavish palaces and the attention to detail visible in every aspect of the construction.

Day 4: Sightseeing and Food walk in Jaipur (Agra – Jaipur)
We will leave Agra in morning and reach Jaipur in 3 hours. First job will be checking in the hotel for rest before getting ready for rest of the day which will include sightseeing and a food walk in the Pink city It is a day long trip where you get to experience Jaipur and it’s original ethereal beauty. We have a light breakfast and then spend time in the walled city of Jaipur. We begin by having some salted lassi. As you walk in the streets of this Pink City enjoying the sights of the market, you can sample all the different varieties of food it has to offer. This food tour will offer you the sampling of fragrant kachoris full of flavor and some chai which is prepared over the charcoal fire. You can also get to taste the wonderful array of Rajasthani sweets and snacks. We end the day by having a large platter of traditional Rajasthani Dinner. Along with sampling food, we also do some sight seeing such as Galta Jee Temple which houses a lot of monkeys and langoors and the Amer Fort. The sight seeing will depend on the time we have on hand. We will visit the local markets which are very colorful, fragrant and full of life with lots of people selling lots of things in their shops such as shoes, bangles, jewellery, clothes, utensils, spices, artifacts. The guests will be guided in the use of spices used in the traditional Rajasthani cooking.

Day 5: Fun with Elephants, Jaipur
We spend this day sight seeing in the wonderful city of Jaipur famous all over as the Pink City of India. Here we first go to visit the Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of Wind. It is a 5 story tall monument with intricate lattice work and has 953 small jharokhas (windows). This morning, we go to spend some time with the elephants in the Pink City via Elefantastic. The elephants are gentle giants and highly trained. Before we begin the play time, you will be served a delicious traditional Rajasthani thali for lunch. After enjoying the meal, you can have as much time as you want feeding, riding and playing with the friendly and trained elephants. Then come the time to ride an elephant of your choice and ride into the open land. After a traditional Rajasthani lunch, we will visit some major landmarks of Jaipur city like Jaipur palace, Janatar Mantar, City Museum , Galta ji mandir etc.

DAY 6: End of Tour
On this last day of the food tour in India, we’ll drive back towards Delhi. If any of the guests need a drop to airport or railway station to their journey elsewhere, it will be arranged according to their requirements.
